Building a Zoned Mask using Posterise Adjustment

SummarySometimes you want to adjust an image in defined zones rather than in continuous gradients. Here's a way to create a very flexible mask, shown in Affinity Photo, using stacked RGB channels and the Posterise adjustment control. This results in a distinctive 'look' to the image that is based on individual colour density and would take much longer (and be much harder) to create in hand-painted masking method. Extra tip: Invert the mask and see what happens! You can even create separate masks for each of R, G and B (or CMYK) and apply these separately to different adjustments.
