DiscussionThere is a basic need in any action, which is to have the tools for the job. Certainly, you can adapt and adopt, which can be a very useful skill, but nothing beats having the proper kit, and in war this can mean the difference between success and failure. Training just specialists for using equipment seems like a good idea, though if they get killed or injured, which does happen in war, then who will take over from them? Having multi-skilled soldiers gives you much more flexibility. See also
