DownloadClick here to download the latest 'Dave's Selection-Masker' macro set. To insert this into your library, simply click on the 3-line 'hamburger' on the top right of the library panel, click on 'Import Macros...' and point it at the downloaded file. Then click on the layer for which you want a model and click once on the appropriate macro in the 'Dave's Selection-Masker' library group category. DiscussionThe macros in this category all provide means of converting layers created by Dave's various selection macros into selections, masks and Spare Channels (in Channels panel). Macro sets they work with include: They require that the selection layer is selected (as happens after the above macros are run. They are simple one-click actions and offer no variables. Convert to SelectionThis converts the selection layer (including adjustment/filter layers such as Procedural Texture) to a simple selection. The layer is then deleted so it is replaced by a selection. Convert to Mask and Spare ChannelThis converts the selection layer (including adjustment/filter layers such as Procedural Texture) to mask, which is placed at the bottom of the layer stack. This placing is done so the mask does not affect what you see, and also so it is easy located and moved to where it is needed. The selection is also saved as a Spare Channel in the Channels panel, so it can be easily used in future selections and masks. The Spare Channel is not renamed as this is not possible in macros (you may want to do this afterwards). Convert to Selection, Mask and Spare ChannelThis combines the above two actions so you have a mask, selection and spare channel that reflect the area selected. Convert to MonoThis converts the selection layer (including adjustment/filter layers such as Procedural Texture) to a single greyscale layer. The greyscale is derived as standard luminosity values. Opacity values are retained. Convert to Mono and StretchLike 'Convert to Mono', this converts the selection layer (including adjustment/filter layers such as Procedural Texture) to a single greyscale layer. The greyscale is derived as standard luminosity values. Opacity values are retained. This is then 'stretched' via Auto Levels so the monochrome values range from black to white. This can be useful when you want to use the layer as a mask or simply to see more clearly the differences across the image.
