Dave's Test Cards

Here's a bunch of test cards I use, all in native Affinity Photo .afphoto format, so they will scale well and can be adjusted to suit your purpose. Also, where layers not needed, jpg format is also given.

In alphabetic order:

  • 0-10 Scale (simple): Simple division of a length into 10 parts. Good for percentage division.
  • 12 Colour Test Card Mono: Primary, secondary and tertiary colour strips, fading to white, black and grey, converted to monochrome and sorted by luminosity.
  • 12 Colour Test Card: Primary, secondary and tertiary colour strips, fading to white, black and grey.
  • 12 Colour Wheel with Triangles and Values and Inner Smooth Wheel: Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Colours, in circle of solid triangles, with name, angle and RGB values. Plus full smooth colour wheel.
  • 12 Colour Wheel with Triangles and Values: Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Colours, in circle of solid triangles, with name, angle and RGB values.
  • Black-Red-White gradient: A gradient from black to red to white. Good for saturation testing.
  • Blend Mode: Blend and Base layers with horizontal and vertical gradients, useful for exploring blend modes.
  • Colour Cube: A representation of RGB as a cube.
  • Faces: A set of faces to help with colour adjustments.
  • HSL 4 Colour Rectangles: Four large rectangles each with spectrum and fading to white, black and grey.
  • HSL 4 Colour Wheels: Four colour wheels, with continuous spectrum. Fading to centre values of white, black and grey.
  • HSL Strips: Three horizontal stripes, one easy for change of hue, saturation and luminosity.
  • Hue in 10% Steps: Stepping around the colour wheel a bit at a time.
  • Mono Gradient: A simple monochrome gradient, fading from black to white.
  • Primary/Secondary gradient strips: Gradient strips from black to saturated to white for grey, red, yellow, green, cyan, blue and magenta.
  • RBGY Colour Wheel: A colour wheel with red and green, plus blue and yellow opposites. Related to LAB and pigment values.
  • Resolution Circle: Triangles meeting at fine point. For testing resolution, moire, blurs, sharpening, etc.
  • RGB Spotlights: Red, green and blue circles. Can be moved to overlap to show blending.
  • RGBCMYKGW Solid and Gradients: Primary and Secondary colours, plus black, grey and white, fading to black, white and grey.
  • Sharpening Strips: Monochrome strips of white, white to black, grey, black to white, black. Useful for testing such as sharpening.
  • Skin tones: A set of colours from dark to light, with RGB and hex values.
  • Smooth Colour Wheel -- RGB Overlays: RGB spectrum colour wheel with Red, Green and Blue that can be dragged apart.
  • Smooth Colour Wheel: RGB spectrum colour wheel.
  • Spectrum Rectangle Fade to White and Black: Big rectangle with RGB spectrum, fading from saturated centre to white at top and black at bottom.
  • Spectrum Rectangle: Big rectangle with RGB spectrum.
