TechniqueGet them amused by telling a joke or otherwise making witty remarks. Then either go for a relaxed close with another closing technique or weave closure into the joke. This is particularly useful when they are tense for some reason. Beware of politically-incorrect humor unless you are sure it will be effective. Self-deprecating humor is often a safe bet and shows you to be confident and likable. Examples
