DiscussionAn army is known to 'march on its stomach' in the vast quantities of food needed. If the enemy does not have a good supply route, they may have to stray into lands which you control in their search for food. They may also do this accidentally as they scour the territory. Knowing they may be attacked, a plundering force may well be very mobile and well-armed. There may also be other enemy groups in the area, so caution must be exercised. Beware of righteously defending what is 'yours' and falling into a losing skirmish. Plunderers are sometimes also simply looters, out for personal gain. These may not be as disciplined, yet they may also be dangerous, especially if they know what they are doing is wrong and fear punishment if caught. See also
