DescriptionBrachyology is the condensation of a phrase or sentence. ExampleTo me! Love, hope, charity. I want out. DiscussionBrachyology is typically accomplished by removal of words. Terseness in speech gives emphasis, stripping away unnecessary words and leaving the key words that convey the core meaning. Brachyology is a general term for condensation. Ellipsis is often used to mean the same thing. Asyndeton and Zeugma are types of brachyology. Praegnans constructio is a form of brachyology where two clauses are condensed into one.
