If you are going to facilitate or manage the change, you should be careful before accepting the brief. It is very easy to be dropped into facilitating or managing change that is doomed to fail, for example either from a misunderstanding of what the real problem is (and hence shooting at the wrong target) or by falling into the trap of underestimating the size of the effort (and hence using a peashooter against an armor-plated tank).
