Discussion

Daring is an attribute of the young adult (particularly the male) who prove themselves, perhaps by acts of ritual and rites of passage, as worthy of esteem and thus being allowed to belong to a higher level within the group.

Watching others acting in daring and courageous ways either inspires us to face our own demons or gives us a vicarious release.

'Daring enterprise' is the 9th of Georges Polti's 36 Dramatic Situations.
