Explanations > Attitude
'Attitude' is something that we all have and talk about, yet it can be surprisingly difficult to define as it appears as complex combination of sub-elements. It is also very important in persuasion as we need to convince people who have quite varying attitudes and whose attitudes we want to change.
Attitudes are conceptualised as multidimensional constructs. ABC model of attitudes (tripartite): affect (feelings towards Ao) behaviour (intention towards Ao) cognition (beliefs about Ao) See alsoTemperament, Mood and Emotion, Planned Behavior Theory, Attitude (Theory), Mere Exposure Theory
