Description

Make sure you are spotlessly clean. Wash before working, and wash if you get food on your hands. If you get a food splash on your clothes change them, especially if the splash is noticeable, such as if it is large or on white or pale clothing.

Try to stay clean by careful movement and carrying of food. If you get food on your hands, do not wipe them on your clothes. Look in the mirror from time to time to check you still look clean and presentable.

Also keep the table clean. Wipe it down between customers. Scrape off crumbs between courses if you can. Clean up spillages, even if they did them.

Discussion

While being clean may not increase your tip, it could easily result in a lower tip.

Food has an odd effect where it is appetising when well-presented on a plate, but can cause disgust when on your body or clothes.

Cheerfully helping clean up spillages they caused can cause them to become obliged to you and hence give you a bigger tip.
